This page will tell you what the Houses in Raffles Institution (my school) are.
There are basically 5 houses in my school: Bayley, Buckley, Hullett, Moor and Morrison. The house system in my school, and some other schools like Raffles Girls' Secondary School & Catholic High School, works like this:
Every student who enters the school is put into one of the houses. Raffles Institution, my school, which will from now on be referred to as R.I., puts the students into the houses one-by-one, i.e. the first is put into Bayley, the next into Buckley, the next into Hullett and so on, and keeps on going in cycles. Even most of the teachers are assigned houses.
During competitions within the school, the houses compete against each other, and get points each for their placing, with the 1st house getting more points and the last house getting less points (duh!). At the end of the year, the points are added up and the houses are ranked. Each house member also uses T-shirts (part of the P.E. kit) with sleeves of their house colours.
Events include two inter-house carnivals with many sports, Cross-Country and academic competitions such as the Science Quiz.
The R.I. website has more information on each of the houses.
